HELMET OF SALVATION & SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
LIVE FOR MORE
Meant To Live
Switchfoot
Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he’s bid for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly
[Chorus]
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we’ve been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we’re bent and broken, broken
[Chorus]
We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life, yeah
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live
We were meant to live
Have you ever felt like you were meant to live for more?
Do you feel like you are living with your eyes half open? In what ways?
In what ways do you feel like your bent and broken?
So the question for the day is,"How can you find the solution to these issues in the Salvation of Jesus Christ?" Answer in the comments!

MONDAY, AUGUST 11 DAILY JOURNAL
HELMET OF SALVATION & SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
GOD SHAPED HOLE
How many times a day do you feel alone or see someone who is alone?
Something’s Missing
John Mayer
I’m not alone
I wish I was
Cause then I’d know I was down because
I couldn’t find a friend around
To love me like they do right now
They do right now
I’m dizzy from the shopping mall
I searched for joy but I bought it all
It doesn’t help the hunger pains
And a thirst I’d have to drown first to ever satiate
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
Something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
At all
When autumn comes
It doesn’t ask
It just walks in where it left you last
You never know when it starts
Until there’s fog inside the glass around your summer heart
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
Something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
At all
I can’t be sure that this state of mine
Is not of my own design
I wish there was an over-the-counter test
For loneliness
For loneliness like this
MONDAY
Something’s missing
And I don’t know how to fix it
Something’s missing
And I don’t know what it is
No I don’t know what it is
Something’s different
And I don’t know what it is
No I don’t know what it is

Messages waiting on me when
I come home
How come everything I think I need
Always comes with batteries
What do you think it means?
Do you feel like your life is complete? Why or why not? What do you feel is missing from your life?
The message of the Bible is to bring people back to a right relationship with God. Without Jesus Christ in your life you will never be complete—you will always be missing Him.
So the question for the day is, "What are ways God wants to fill your life?" Answer this in the comments!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16 DAILY JOURNAL
SHIELD OF FAITH
FAITH LIES WITHIN
Do you ever feel like you are trying to live your life on your own? Explain.
When you think about living your life for God what are your fears?
Right before Joshua was asked to step up and be the head leader of God’s people, this is the message God gave to Joshua:
Joshua 1:6-9 “I will not fail you or abandon you. Be strong and courageous, for you will lead my people to possess all the land I swore to give their ancestors. Be strong and very courageous. Obey all the laws Moses gave you. Do not turn away from them, and you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed. I command you—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
What words or phrases do you see repeated in these verses? Why do you think they are repeated?
How do these verses say you will be successful?
How do you see God encouraging Joshua in his faith?
So here's the question for the day, "What challenges you in these verses to have faith or to strengthen your faith?" Answer in the comments!

TUESDAY, JULY 15 DAILY JOURNAL
SHIELD OF FAITH
GOTTA HAVE FAITH!
Do you ever feel like your life is boring? If so, what do you wish you could
change about your life?
Blind Melon
No Rain
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin’ the puddles gather rain
And all I can do is just pour some tea for two
and speak my point of view
But it’s not sane, It’s not sane
I just want some one to say to me
I’ll always be there when you wake
Ya know I’d like to keep my cheeks dry today
So stay with me and I’ll have it made
And I don’t understand why I sleep all day
And I start to complain that there’s no rain
And all I can do is read a book to stay awake
And it rips my life away, but it’s a great escape
escape......escape......escape......
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
ya don’t like my point of view
ya think I’m insane
Its not sane......it’s not sane
What do you think about these lyrics? Do you feel the same way about your life?
What do you think the line means where it says “And it rips my life away, but it’s a great escape”? Do you feel like you are trying to escape anything in your life?
So here's the question for the day, "Knowing what you know about faith—do you think there are areas of your life where you need to take a risk for God—to step out of your comfort zone?" Answer in the comments.

What do you think of when you hear the phrase “Share your faith”?
Why do you think sharing your faith is important?
Philemon 1:5-6 “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.”
Why do these verses say to be active in sharing your faith?
So the question for the day is "How does sharing your faith show love?" Answer this in the comments.
